Story

This summer i am attempting to fulfill a lifelong dream of swimming the channel  this will take place at some point between the 8th and the 15th of August (depending on weather)

This may seem like a fairly crazy dream since it is a minimum of 19 nautical miles (it gets longer the slower you are because of tides), there is sewage, jelly fish, cold, crazy weather, ferries and pain to contend with. there have even been occasional shark sightings (although am not sure how reliable they are....) and approximately 50% of all attempts fail and there have been a few fatalities. However i really really want to do it!

I have been training since October averaging 5-6 x1-2 hr sessions a week. I am about to increase this dramatically. I am working to improve my speed as well as my stamina and overall fitness. The biggest restriction is time, i dont ever really have time to do more than about 10km so i am trying to make every session really count.

A large part of channel swimming is determination. Anyone who knows me well will know that i am incredibly stubbon and hate quitting and i can promise that i will finish or be instructed to leave the water (from hypothermia, swallowing sewage or something nasty like that) it is not my intention to quit no matter how much it hurts.

Because of the failure rate I am asking people to sponsor me to attempt it rather than to succeed at it since i promise to give it everything i have and to train as hard as i can and because your money will go to such a worthwile cause.
