Altogether a great success and I hope we can think of more ways to honour the memory of Frances in the future.
I will be running the Great North Run, (half marathon) on 19th September 2010, to raise funds for the mental health charity rethink in memory of much loved, respected and enormously missed, Frances Hamilton.
Frances was a wonderful person who gave others so much with her humour, thoughfulness and creativity but found her own mental health problems increasingly difficult to manage and she sadly took her own life in May last year. I hope that the money raised to support rethink will help other people experiencing mental health difficulties to get through the bleakest times and find strategies to manage their lives.
I have never run this distance or any event like this before, but I feel Frances' encouragement every step of the way during my training runs, I am sure she will be with me on the day.
Please join me in remembering Frances and supporting rethink, donate as much or as little as you wish, all support is greatly appreciated.
