Like many of us, all of the participants lives have been touched by Cancer either to family or friends.  We all have our own reasons for wanting to raise money for Cancer charities and will ride in memory of people we knew.

One loss common to many of us was the passing of a former Group Scout Leader in Melbourne, Paul, through this disease.  One of Paul's keen interests was cycling so following his passing a bi-annual cycle ride has been organised to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Our target for 2008 is to enable all 25 riders to complete the 151 miles from Walney (Barrow-in-Furness) to Wear (Sunderland) within 3 days.  The largest amount we have managed to raise in a single event is a little over £5,000.  We are grateful for your help in reaching this target this year.
