Hurray!
I finished the Marathon in New York in 3h48min56sec.
Mel's 2nd Marathon is done! Many hanks to everybody's donation so far!
There is still a bit money to achieve.
so, please don't stop and...
....buy a bit of a wheelchair.
Once again though, common sense eludes me and I put myself forward to run on behalf of Get Kids Going! So, last Sunday 2nd November whilst most of you were probably celebrating a tasty Sunday roast at home, I was running through the streets of New York. The trip will be entirely funded by myself and I am hoping to raise £2000 for the charity I have been chosen.
However this won't be my story.. Get Kids Going! is a UK based charity and believes that all disabled children and young people should receive the right equipment to get them going and take part in sport by providing specialist sports wheelchairs, sports grants and year round support. The £2000 I want to raise is actually the money for 1 wheel chair.. which will allow 1 of 50.000 disabled kids in the UK to move forward again.
Any donations, no matter what size will be fantastic and greatly appreciated. To make it a little bit easier to imagine.. I put a list together of different parts and associated bits and bobs on a wheelchair. Feel free to pick one and buy a piece of a wheel chair to help a child get going!
Thank you so much.
