Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am running the London Marathon in honour of my mother, who sadly died of cancer at the end of August 2007. Her final wish was to be able to die at home, and as I lived 100 mile away from her I was unable to stay and care for her enough to make this possible.
Instead, the nurses from the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home cared for her. They were on call 24 hours a day for whatever she needed - this assistance was invaluable to me.
I have been running for 17 years with numerous 10k and half marathons under my belt, and 5 marathons since turning 40! However, this years London Marathon will be very special to me as I am running in memory of my mother, so please dig deep and sponsor me to help the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home continue to provide their care for other families in need.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Iain Rennie Hospice At Home will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support,
Melanie
