Story

Welcome and thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.

Four People, One Goal. 100km in less than 30 hours.

On the 17th July, four (relatively) unfit men known as the Oreham Four'em Trailwalker Team will embark on the UK's toughest team charity challenge, the Trailwalker, a long distance endurance walk of 100km (62 miles) across the South Downs. Our team of Andy Barrott, Ken Brotherston, Paul Drew & Michael Drew, will walk non-stop, day and night (the equivalent of more than two marathon's and an ascent of Ben Nevis) all within 30 hours.

An extreme way of escaping the kids?

Nope, we have roped them in too... our Sherpa's! Our aim is to raise £2000 for two particular charities, Oxfam GB and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. So by donating you are helping us to help them and every step we take is on your behalf. So please support us, dig deep, it's the easiest 62 miles you will ever walk!!

We are already training, with two 20km walks per week culminating in two 50km, 12 hour final training walks in June ahead of the Trailwalker in July. We would love it if you could also come and support us at the event itself! We hope to walk across the finish line the morning of the 18th of July at the Brighton race-course, a fitting end for thoroughbreds like us!

About these charities...

Oxfam GB....The UK arm of the global charity. Whether its fighting poverty or homelessness in the UK or drought, famine or natural disasters in other parts of the world, Oxfam GB provides the people and resources to have an immediate impact on those effected.

Gurkha Welfare Trust...Established in 1969 to support the soldiers and former soldiers of the Gurkha Regiment. For decades the Gurkha Regiment has served the UK, often with the ultimate sacrifice. However on leaving the service, former soldiers are not afforded the same rights as those in other regiments. The charity helps provide much needed aid, to ex-service personnel but particularly the elderly, who are totally reliant on the Trust to provide for a dignified and comfortable old age.
