Thank you from the bottom of my sore feet and painful knees for sponsoring me for my first and possibly only marathon!

1. Effort!  I have run at least a half marathon distance every weekend since Christmas week. That will be 16 of them!

2. For Water aid. Clean, safe water and sanitation is something we take for granted in this country. There are millions of people who do not have safe drinking water or any sanitation at all. It is relatively cheap and easy to install pumps and wells for clean water and to teach local people how to maintain their own equipment. Water aid do not work in war torn countries so the work they do is not undone.

• 884 million people in the world do not have access to safe water. This is roughly one in eight of the world's population.

• 2.5 billion people in the world do not have access to adequate sanitation, this is almost two fifths of the world's population.

• 1.8 million children die every year as a result of diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitation. This amounts to around 5,000 deaths a day.

Please help me to make a small difference for people who do not have the advantages we take for granted.
