Hello and thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

In a moment of insanity, I have decided to run the Great North Run. It's 13.1 miles around Newcastle and South Shields on Sunday October 5th 2008. To make my effort worthwhile, I'm running on behalf of the British Red Cross, and hope to raise at least £300 to help their various projects in the UK and around the world. With your help, hopefully I can achieve this. If you'd like to learn more about their good work, please have a look here.

As a guide, £2 provides a food parcel for someone living with HIV/Aids in South Africa. £5 pays for 100 litres of purified water. £10 buys a first aid kit for emergency use by the British Red Cross. £100 will pay for a tent for one family who have been displaced by disaster. £200 can pay for a wheelchair to lend to someone with a temporary disability or illness. The same amount can also pay to train and equip an emergency response volunteer.
