I am the proud father of amazing twin boys called  Ben & Ollie.

 

Sadly, about 20 months ago the boys were diagnosed with the condition Mucopolysaccharide Disease (MPS). 

 

MPS is a life shortening progressive degenerative disease.  It has 21 different strains and at this time there is no known cure. The children affected have late or little development so, amongst other things, have a very young mental age. Sadly, in time it will attack their vital organs. The boys at present are extremely active and fun-loving and this will be very hard to watch them deteriorate slowly.  The disease will eventually paralyse the boys and they will need 24 hour care.  They are totally dependant on their mum and myself. In the years to come they will eventually be tube fed.

 

Ben & Ollie have already raised about £4000 to date for the MPS Society through a sponsored horse ride and a bring and buy sale organised by the local W.I.

 

This money can go to research to try to find a cure or to help out families with children affected by MPS in the hope of making their life easier, or simply to give the children the best life possible in the short time available to them!
