Following last years first Great North Run (half marathon) which I completed in 2hours 24 secs I am now going one step further. I am not only taking part in the run again on 5 October to try and beat my time, I am also taking part in the FIRST Great North Swim.

This is a 1 mile open water swim in the dark and murky waters of Lake Windermere on Saturday 13 September . It is the first event of its kind  in the UK.

I am raising money for St Catherine's Hospice, near Preston where my Dad was kindly looked after before he passed away last year.
