Hello everyone
Dont adjust your monitors - I am not trying to get Snickers renamed, but I am going to attempt to run 26 miles in a day.
But why?
The opportunity was there to support a great cause, I havent done it before, and most people who know me think I'm daft for attempting it which is all the encouragement I need.
Who am I raising money for?
I am running for the The National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease (NACC) which brings together people of all ages suffering from IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), their families and the health professionals involved in their care.
I work with patients suffering from IBD through my job, and it has also directly affected my family. About 1 in 250 people in the United Kingdom suffer from IBD - they are horrible illnesses which can massively restrict peoples options and lifestyles. NACC is a really well organised charity doing significant work in both support services and new research.
Also, my employer Shire will match whatever sponsorship total I make, so if I can raise £2500 on here that would mean £5000 towards NACC.
What does the 3 stand for?
My 3 kids who are acting as motivational coaches
How much to donate?
Any amount big or small will make a difference.
Will I stand out in the crowd?
I have had some interesting costume suggestions already, feel free to add your own and whoever submits the best idea (within reason) I will try and incorporate on the big day!
