We fund life-changing and life-saving work to support cancer patients at The Christie

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

This page has been set up in memory of a great friend Matty Newall, who passed away on the 27th April 2008.  Matty was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2007 and was initially refused treatment due to the severity of his condition.  Matty obtained a second opinion at Christie’s hospital in Manchester and they agreed to undertake a course of chemotherapy, the decision was made based on his family commitments and him being so young.  Through the support and hope received from Christie’s, Matty went on to enjoy life for a further six months with his family and friends.

Christie's do some amazing work day in day out through research and the care they provide. I would like to help raise as much money as possible to help them continue this work and I am grateful to all donations that are pledged.

We have planned activities to help achieve the target of £10,000 including the London Marathon on 26th April.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Christie's will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.

ALSO MBNA bank/bank of America have agreed to do a BANK MATCH which means that every penny we get will be doubled so the money you see above is in fact twice the amount!!!!!!

Please donate what you can - its for a great cause.

Many thanks for your support.
