It has taken me over two years to get over the pain and buck up the courage to run another mile let alone a half marathon.
For those of you who don't know I ran the London Marathon in 2008 and it has taken my lanky legs a while to recover!
However following the recent death of my Grandad through cancer and seeing the incredible support he received by several charitable organisations, I have decided to challenge myself again and to run in the memory of my Grandad and help raise lots of money for Macmillan as a way of saying thank you.
Most of you will be familiar with
Macmillan Cancer support but for those of you who aren't, their ambition is to improve the lives of everyone living with cancer. This includes practical support at home, emotional support and working for better cancer cure.
One shocking statistic is that
one in three of us will get cancer at
some stage in our lives. The vital work done throughout the UK depends
almost entirely upon the
generous support of individuals like
YOU!!So please dig deep and help Macmillan to continue to provide and develop vital services that support people with cancer.
Many Thanks for all your support,
Miles
