Fundraising for Kith and Kids
Story
As some of you are aware, I work for Kith and Kids which is a fantastic charity that supports people with learning disabilites and their families.
To help support the work that Kith and Kids do, I'm going to throw myself off the top of Earl's Court! It's a 66 foot abseiling challenge, something I've never done before so hopefully I won't find out on the day that I have vertigo! This is all happening at Earl's Court (obviously) on Sunday 5th September so if you fancy watching me and providing some possibly much needed moral support please do feel free to come along. Kith & Kids strive to empower families living with
disability to overcome social isolation and access the services they
need. We provide support for parents and sibling carers with practical
and emotional issues - even having an ear to bend can make all the
difference. All thoughout the year, we provide various different schemes
which help our members with learning disabilities widen their horizons,
develop social skills / life skills / independence and much, much more.
It also gives our members a chance to socialise with a much bigger peer
group than they normallly would whilst giving parents and carers a
much needed rest.
