My story

The North Pole Marathon (www.npmarathon.com) is a unique challenge.  A group of us flew up to the ice cap on 7th April 2007, and ran the 26.2 miles in extreme sub zero temperatures of -25 deg C around a marked circuit.  I have a long standing fascination with the polar regions, and enjoy running tremendously.  Being able to combine these interests with raising significant funds for CARE International means a lot to me on many levels.  You can find more details about the event at www.cudmores.net

I have lived, worked and travelled through many countries over the last 20 years.  I have seen and met many wonderful people in these locations who are less fortunate than ourselves.  CARE International has many programmes which address long term health and welfare improvements in the poorest parts of the world, and have an excellent reputation.  I hope you will feel able to support them by sponsoring me today.

The CARE International UK website is :- http://www.careinternational.org.uk/

And details of a couple of their case studies illustrating their work on longer term developments can be found here :-

  Niger  :- http://www.careinternational.org.uk/?lid=3269

  Ethopia :- http://www.careinternational.org.uk/?lid=3205

Please note that all funds raised go to CARE International and no deductions are made for the cost of the trip.  I would also like to thank BP who are kindly providing additional donations to CARE for this event under their matched giving scheme for employees.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me.  CARE International UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
