Minch Rugby Higgys Heroes
Fundraising for MS-UK
Minchinhampton RFC has joined forces with Alistair Hignell’s Higgy’s Heroes for the 2009 Stroud Half Marathon. The Former England Rugby Star & Commentator Alistair Hignell was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and we as fellow rugby players want to do our bit to help him and others with MS and raise as much money as possible for this great cause.
Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that strikes most often in early adulthood and it is thought around 100,000 people in the UK have been diagnosed with the illness, including Chris Brookman’s cousin Kerry who was diagnosed 5 years ago. The MSRC is a wonderful charity dedicated to making life better for those affected by this incurable and debilitating condition. Higgy’s Heroes was born at the 2008 London Marathon where a group of Higgy’s friends got together to raise money for the MSRC. This year Higgy’s Heroes are aiming for a 100 runners in the Stroud Half Marathon and Minchinhampton RFC are delighted to help this target be realised. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor Minch Rugby Higgy's Heroes: The Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please dig deep and sponsor a group of Rugby players of all shapes and sizes, who are going to be knackered from playing rugby for Minchinhampton the day before, to run round 13 and a bit miles on a Sunday morning in their efforts to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause.* Charities pay a small fee for our service.
