At times of overseas emergency, the DEC brings together a unique alliance of the UK's aid, corporate, public and broadcasting sectors to rally the nation's compassion, and ensure that funds raised go to DEC agencies best placed to deliver effective and timely relief to people most in need.

Story

Recently, Mix 96 joined nearly 50 Radio Stations across the UK to raise over £14,000 for the Disasters Emergency Committee with an online auction for things that money can't buy.

However, this wasn't enough for some people.

Whilst talking to a caller on the Mix 96 Breakfast Show, Adam Morris made a flippant remark about waxing being an easy pursuit that exposes the difference in pain threshold between men and women.  Immediately, the swithboard was ablaze with hoards of listeners calling for Adam to experience waxing himself.

With many listeners using a charitable donation to the Haiti appeal as an excuse for inflicting massive pain and discomfort on Adam, a waxing was booked in order that the presenter could experience the procedure himself and fully appreciate how it actually feels.

Please acknowledge this excruciating bodily sacrifice with a donation to the DEC, and help the people of Haiti.
