HOOORRRRAAAYYYY!!!!!!

I made it...

4 days, 302 miles and amazing friends at the end to give me a hug....

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT HELPED ME TO DO SOMETHING AMAZING. (those that helped with the cakes, the pampering, the coffee morning and those that donated)

love to u all

xdx

OK, it's three weeks to go and the nerves are starting to kick in now. I have been out on my beloved bike every weekend from Jan to now, and it's fair to say the excercise is starting to take it's toll on my body!!!!!

I'm not going to tell you about falling of my bike when I was actually static and standing with one foot on the ground. I suppose offically, that's falling over, not off.

The hardest weekend by far has been the 3 days int he Yorkshire Moors...Day 3 brought rain, it was just enough to tip me over the edge. I am ashamed to say there were tears. I needed a stearn talking too...'Man up Moffitt' was the encouraging words used :-)

I have also had fun baking more cakes for a pampering evening in Mursley, which was so much fun.

This time I must say a huge thanks to the Milton Keynes girls and the Goatnet crew for dragging me this far in terms of fundraising and training.

Again thanks to all the new donations, I'm so grateful. I'll probably not be on here again brefore I do it, so fingers crossed I make it back across the channel to update on the event itself.

Thanks again to all of you

D

So as I said, I'll keep this page up to date to make sure those revisiting know where I am with my training, and new visitors can see the story so far.....

As mentioned in the update below, 28th Jan did in fact see me purchasing my new best friend, that now goes everywhere with me a weekends (strapped to the back of my car still counts) :-)

I took my first tenative rotations in Bath on a cold wintery afternoon, (my reward was a trip to the Spa to thaw out after)

I have managed to get out most weekends, but due to the dark evenings and my shakiness on the roads I am still spending more time in the gym than on the road

I have many lovely people volunteering to take me out to clock up the miles, the first tough one is this weekend, George is the first to take me out to put me through my paces:-) (I hope I survive)

Hi Wonderful generous person :-)

If you've been chatting to me recently you'll know how much I am looking forward to my latest challenge, cycling from London to Paris from 5th -9th May (Those that haven't, don't worry i haven't changed, I am still as lazy and sarcastic as ever)

Some time ago I watched a video of the amazing work Dogs for the Disabled do to improve the quality of life for those people who really need them, so I thought it was the least I could do to help the charity help more people.

For those of you that know the area, my itinerary:

Day 1 London to Calais (95 miles)
Day 2 Calasis to Abbeville (75 miles)

Day 3 Abbeville to Beauvais (70miles)

Day 4 Beauvais to Paris (60miles)

On Thurs 28th January I buy a bike and cancel all social engagements for 3 months, so I can get off the bike at the gym and get on the road.
