Thank you for taking the time to visit Graham and Robin's my JustGiving page.

In November 2009 we took it upon ourselves to take part in a 50 mile charity cycle.  Despite finishing three hours behind the other participants and missing out on the complimentary bacon rolls, our inner cycle demons were unleashed.  "We must strive for physical perfection" said Robin to Graham after a pint and a cigarette.  "Indeed," said Graham, "and by the way its your round".

And here is the result - The UCAN MoG JoG - a 433 mile cycle over four days from the Mull of Galloway at the southern tip of Scotland, to John O' Groats in the far north.  Day 1 takes us from Galloway to New Lanark; day 2 to Pitlochry; day 3 to Invergordon; and day 4 to John O' Groats.

Sticking entirely to back roads, the route will take us through some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland - the moors of Ayrshire and Lanarkshire; the Forth Road Bridge; the rolling hills of Perthshire; the rugged expanse of the Cairngorm; and the wilderness of the North East Highlands.  We can avoid traffic, pedesrians and even potholes (hopefully!) but we cannot avoid hills - make no mistake, this is a serious challenge for both of us.

We both feel lucky to be participating in the event, and seeing our country from two wheels rather than four.  But the real purpose is to raise money for UCAN, a charity that both of us support stongly for personal reasons.  UCAN is a urological cancer charity based in Scotland.  The four main urological cancers are prostrate, testicular, bladder and kidney.  They account for 1 in 3 cancers in men, and 1 in 5 in both men and women.

UCAN is dedicated to raising awareness of urological cancer, providing support and offering quality of life for those affected.  The charity does this by encouraging early diagnosis, improving awareness, evaluating new technologies, assessing different treatments and providing support networks.

Please, please, please support this very worthy cause - UCAN help.  Thank you.
