We support people affected by bipolar to manage their condition in everyday life

Story

I am seeking to raise £20k during the month of Mo’vember by growing a mo’stache which will be shaved off for charity at the end of Mo’vember. I am doing this to honour a good friend of mine, Duncan Toft, who died this year as a result of his bipolar illness.

Duncan battled his illness for over 20 years but still worked in Basingstoke as a social worker in the early intervention team providing direct help to young people with bipolar/manic depression. I have chosen to support the MDF Bipolar Organisation charity as it provides practical support to help people with bipolar disorder. It believes that self help and learning more about the illness is the key to recovery. The crucial issue is having someone to turn to who has real knowledge of handling life with bipolar disorder.

This is what Duncan was able to do first hand for those less fortunate around him.
