We collect used bicycles in the UK and we ship them, in containers, to people who need them in Africa. Some people living in rural African communities walk miles everyday to reach water, school, work or healthcare. Bikes are a sustainable mode of transport and help change lives for many families.

Story

Between 15th and 19th June 2009 I successfully complete the Lands End to John o Groats ride in my planned 5 days.  I covered over 900 miles in 59 hours on the bike and 73 hours on the road.

There is a video and some pictures on this site plus a longer write up and some more photos at the link below.

I have chosen to raise money for: Re~Cycle (Bicycle Aid for Africa) who bring together disused bikes in the UK, work with youth groups in the UK to restore them and ship them to Africa where they can be used by partner groups who can use them for local transport and delivery of health services.

Thanks to everyone for your support
