Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

This year I have taken up the challenge of completing the Monaco Ironman race to help raise money for the 'We Can Beat Wilms' fund in memory of Molly Biederman(pictured left - smiling in the hat!).

Wilms is a form of kidney cancer that develops in the womb and affects about 70 children a year in the United Kingdom.  Happily, most children are cured. If undetected, however, the tumour progresses through five 'stages' and the odds of succesful treatment are reduced.

Sadly Molly's cancer was at Stage 4 before it was diagnosed.  Molly parents have set a goal of raising £25,000 towards Wilms research and are also helping to raise awareness of this rare disease.  You can read more detailed information on  www.wecanbeatwilms.org

The Monaco Ironman is an endurance triathlon taking place on the 7th september 2008.  The race consists of a 1.2 mile sea swim, followed immediately by 56 miles on the bike and a half marathon to finish (13.1 miles). http://www.monaco-ironman.com/

It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
