Tavtai morilogtun (welcome in Mongolian, apparently),
You know the game by now; the first signs of a waning recession and we send you a no-dignity email, hands cupped, outstretched and asking you for your hard-earned cash. That you have read this
far (be it out of
boredom or curiosity - and we all know what that did to the cat) is encouraging
and so cue our chance to engage your heart & purse strings and translate
that into a donation to our rather worth cause.
The cause is the Christina Noble
Children's Foundation (
www.cncf.org), which helps
abandoned, orphaned and homeless children in Mongolia. Any donation (including Gift Aid for you UK taxpayers!)
will go straight to supporting
the running costs of the rather splendid Blue Skies Ger Village in Ulaanbaatar. The Blue Skies Ger Village is there to
provide things that we are all lucky enough to take for granted - a safe
environment, an education, a home and a family unit. What they do is incredibly
valuable and we are delighted that we are able to support them on our trip.
The
occasion for this bout of badgering is
our participation in the 2010 run of the Mongol Rally. On 24 July, we begin the adventure; a rather
circuitous route from Goodwood to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in our
recently-acquired Peugot 206 that has an engine so small that your grandma's
mobility scooter would overtake us with little issue. Further info and updates on our trip (we’ve
even started this blogging malarkey!) can be found here:

We are both fully aware of just how often similar
requests fly into your inbox (we get them too)... but please, if you can, click
that donate button now and we promise to return the favour when you decide to
moonwalk across the Sahara for a superbly good cause of your choice.
With thanks in anticipation,
E & E
