WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE CHARITY?

The aim of the charity is to relieve sickness and preserve the health of people living in Africa. Charity primarily focuses on child-bearing mothers and their babies, by the provision training to healthcare professionals, in the field of anaesthesia and the provision of equipment to support such training.

SOME FACTS...

A Boeing 747 of mothers die in childbirth every single day in Africa.

In Africa a woman’s risk of dying from treatable or preventable complications of pregnancy and childbirth over the course of her lifetime is 1 in 22, compared to 1 in 7,300 in developed regions.

In a country like Benin (West Africa), there are just 11 anaesthetists in a country of 11 million. There are 140 anaesthetists in Cardiff alone!
