Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit this site.
Last year, Professor Robert Winston put out a call to find women of all ages who would be prepared to undertake a huge personal and physical challenge in order to raise money for the charity 'Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Trust', which funds research into infertility and miscarriage. The Charity's main objective is to ensure healthy pregnancies for women and their babies.
Teresa Brayshaw and Susan Donnelly , 2 mum's from St Catherine's school in Didsbury, signed up to the challenge and agreed to train themselves to cycle 45O KM - through the Beijing province of China this October. They both have personal stories which make them feel very connected to the work of this charity, and want to raise the profile and impact of its work.
Having not been on a bike for some years (almost 30 in Teresa's case!) - they have begun their training for this event with enthusiasm and determination and they can be regularly seen on the roads and cycle paths around Manchester. They have already managed to fundraise over £3,500 between them - which is 50% of their total*
They have decided now to double their efforts and join together to raise the remaining £3,500. The mums-on-bums, as they have become known, now need your help to meet their fundraising target. Please donate what you can, as every £2 (minimum donation), will make a difference.
In addition to donations on this site you can support them through attending their Charity Bash (80's Quiz Night, Auction & Disco) on Saturday 19th June at St.Catherine's Social Club at 8pm. Tickets costing £5 per person can be purchased at the Didsbury Festival on Saturday 12th June - look out for the mums-on-bums stall! or you can email Teresa and Sue at
