Out of madness or stupidity or perhaps both..! 13 NATS (National Air Traffic Services) Supply Chain Management, Facilities Management and Legal employees shall be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge starting on Friday 21st May 2010. This challenge involves climbing the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis 1344m), England (Scafell Pike 978m) and Wales (Snowdon 1085m) all within 24 hours (ish), including travelling time between and climbing all three peaks which involves a distance of approximately 26 miles climbing (13 miles up hill and 13 miles back down again and about 14 hours of physical effort) and approximately driving over 400 miles.
Team Members are Sean Allen, Julian Bond, Simon Dennis, Kevin Dowker,Terry Hall, Glynn Hughes, Rob Langan, Richard Langley, Abbie McCallum, Mark Mould, Helena Steele, Darren Riley, Darren Rowlands, Jonathan White.
Training has begun and to start the donation fund rolling a Lift Ban has been introduced, meaning all members have to pay £1 for the luxury of avoiding the stairs!!
A motivational team consisting of Alfredo and Jo Gulisano, Christine Hyde, Chris and Jacob Odam and Lisa Woodburn will join us for the final climb.
All the money donated will go to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, in loving Memory of a dear friend and colleague Chris Munday who sadly passed away in January 2010. This was a charity that was very important to Chris, being a keen sailor.
