We educate and empower mums-to-be to prevent stillbirth & save precious lives

Story

On 26 & 27 October, myself and an elite group of (unfit, middle-aged) athletes will be taking on an epic challenge to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the birth of our daughter Myla.

Myla was sadly stillborn at 35 weeks in November 2013. Whilst often a taboo subject, the hope is that this event will raise money to support the great work done by Kicks Count in raising awareness, educating and supporting families touched by tragedies like ours, as well as provide comfort to our own family by ensuring something positive can be achieved in Myla's name.

Having previously completed the RideLondon 100 mile cycle in memory of our daughter - and raising an incredible amount for the charity Kicks Count - we thought we'd mark this poignant anniversary by taking on a far greater challenge.

Myla's team of runners, consisting of close friends and family, will attempt to run the 170km/ 110 miles over 2 days, from "Myla's Tree" in Wigan, south through Warrington and Northwich, before heading down the Shropshire Union Canal, skirting around Wolverhampton, finishing near my home town of Longbridge (Bham).

Any donation, large or small, will be hugely appreciated.

The finishing line for our event will be Kings Norton RFC, Hopwood, where we’re hoping to celebrate (and recover) with family and friends. Big thanks to KNRFC for their support and generously offering us use of their facilities.

P.S. Big thanks to our niece Esme for letting me shamelessly use her cute picture from a previous fundraiser.
