Story

Ladies and Gentlemen,

In a world that is totally fugazi, there has to be some sentimentalities. Yes, there is a global economic crisis, meaning that we all tighten our purse strings and increase controls on spending, however, this means that charities and the vulnerable people they support suffer even more. For those who know me, you will know that children’s welfare is very close to my heart especially following the sad death of my 2 week old daughter Naima 12th April 2006. Please, I hope you don’t think of me as a chugger (Charity Mugger), I am just someone who is trying to help the vulnerable children this world (and get fit at the same time!).

During 2009 I am embarking on a mammoth year of running to raise funds for the Sands WHY17 campaign (http://www.why17.org/) in running a number of road races totalling 170K.

Thank you to those of you who support my actions sufficiently to donate. I and the children/parents receiving the care provided by these valuable charities are humbled by the generosity of mankind especially in the turbulent times of economic recession.

Respect, Regards & a prosperous 2009

Chris Phillips-Maund

P.S. Our future will only be realised if our children are there to fulfil it.
