100 years ago, 250,000 Asian elephants roamed the earth. Now there are estimated to be only 25,000 left. elephant family is a small and passionate UK based charity that is working towards a world in which the majestic Asian elephant is no longer an endangered species. We work with and support grassroots projects in India, Thailand, Sumatra and Malaysia and invest every penny raised with great care. Our major fundraising campaign for this year focuses on wild elephants in India and we are working to secure a vital wildlife corridor in Kerala that provides safe passage for 5000 elephants.
