UPDATE: due to me picking up a nasty injury to my coccyx (tailbone) a few weeks before the race, I was unable to compete in this year's event as it hadn't healed in time.  However, I'm over that injury and back training again so I will be running a virtual half-marathon - ideally as close to the original route as possible on Saturday 3rd February of 2024 instead.

I will be running this iconic half-marathon, Tge Great North Run, again in September 2023 in aid of Scotty's Little Soldiers whose work is so important to all of the children and young adults that they provide assistance and support to.

I've chosen this charity as they offer a unique range of services to the bereaved families of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country.
