Story
I've now completed 3 Great North Runs, at 13.1 miles each, and I have 2 more to go (the next one is September 19th 2010). I'd like to thank everyone for their support and donations so far- and ask the rest of you to please give what you can to this worthy cause.
I finished this years run in just under two and a half hours. I was aiming for a personal best of under two hours, but unfortunately I fell down an open grid after 7 miles (yes literally, up to my groin). But I was helped out by Kara Tointon (Dawn from Eastenders). I did have to limp for a while and was bloody and bruised following. Still managed to finish, and am looking forward to it next year.
I have a few bigger ideas, things I'd like to do to raise some money- but I'm keeping them to myself so there's no disapointment if I can't pull them off. But watch this space- the more donations Jospice recieves the more likely I am to feel motivated and confident enough to do something bigger.
And no, I haven't got a place in the London Marathon yet- but I should find out in early October.
I'm doing this primarily in memory of my Nan and Gran. This charity is a really worthy cause that needs your money. Oh, and if you notice I've reached my target, then don't let that stop you donating!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Joseph's Hospice Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
