On Saturday the 6th June 2009 Seven intrepid employees (or some would say mad) of Network Rails National Delivery Service will be setting off from Lands End in Cornwall to Cycle 1000 miles in 10 days to John O'Groats in Scotland.
The Seven Fools are :-
Lynsey O'Neil
Andy Spence
Dave Campbell
Roger South
Carl Jones
Zac Grief
Jim Kennell
Assisted by Network Rail and other employee's they will be cycling on average 100 miles a day for 10 days finishing on Monday 15th in John O'Groats. Our route will take us to Oakhampton, Bristol, Westwood, Doncaster, Darlington via York, Dumfries, Balloch, Fort William, Bonar Bridge and finally John O'Groats.
We are grateful to the support drivers of James Heslop, Wayne Gould, Ken Blackley & Jonathan Pain (next year these 4 will complete the journey themselves!)
We are raising money for 2 charities NSPCC and Macmillan Cancer and aim to split the money raised as best as possible 50/50 with them both. The grand target in total is £10k. Donating on this web site will donate to the Macmillan Cancer Support, If you wish to sponsor the NSPCC then please either fill in a paper form, which is available from any of the team members or support team or visit our NSPCC website (link below) , but we will try and split the money 50/50 to the best of our ability.
