Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I returned to running (after a 23 year break) shortly after the 2013 Stafford Half Marathon - An Event that I'd said that I'd do for years but never acted upon. With the help of the NHS "Couch to 5K" plan and additional encouragement (plus the incentive of a charity donation) from my Wife, I finally donned my running gear and took to the streets.

Through multiple aches and pains I eventually tested myself at the KHH Shugborough 10K (thanks to all those that made donations) from which I concluded that I'd have to train a good deal harder! Undeterred I signed up for the Stafford Half Marathon in November and so now there is no going back!

Shortly after this KHH put out a call for 25 (or more) Runners to commemorate their 25th Anniversary in the Town. It just so happens that 2014 is also the 25th Anniversary of my only previous Half Marathon experience so it only seemed right that I should run for them.

So please give generously to help ensure that Katharine House Hospice can continue to do great work. They provide free Hospice care services for people faced with an illness that cannot be cured. Their aim being to enable their patients and those close to them to live as fully as possible and make the most of the time that is left.

About the charity

We aim to enable patients with life limiting conditions to live life as fully as possible and make the most of the time they have, as well as supporting their loved ones. It costs over £3.7m a year to provide vital free care services and we rely heavily on the support from our community.
