Longest Netball Marathon

Northgate Sports Hall, Sleaford, Lincolnshire 25/7/08 - 27/7/08

Sleaford Netball Club are attempting to break the current record which stands at 56 hours and raise money for WheelPower along the way.

Starting at 8am on Friday 25th July through to 6pm on Sunday 27th July the two squads of 12 will be playing continually.  Adhering to the Guinness World Record strict rules the players must remain at the venue throughout, sleeping and eating on a rotational basis during the 58 hour attempt. Independent witnesses, stewards, umpires and medics will be on hand to record the event. 

Gemma Cope put the challenge to the Club many months ago in order to get WheelPower, the town of Sleaford and the game of Netball on the map. It has taken a great deal of planning, and a great deal of support from many volunteers.

If the attempt is successful it will be a fantastic achievement with a lot of aching limbs no doubt!
