<p>St Catherine’s Hospice is a local charity dedicated to providing specialised end of life care – and support to patient’s families, friends and carers. All the care they provide is free of charge and every year around £5million of voluntary income is required to fund their work.</p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">The New Horizons Appeal was launched in late 1989 by BBC newsreader Martyn Lewis and BBC presenter Cliff Michelmore, to establish a day care centre; provide education & training facilities for healthcare professionals and establish a Foundation Fund to provide a solid and secure financial base for the Hospice. The goal is to raise as much capital as we can to provide a stable base for the Hospice.</span></p>
