Story
Have you heard of Le Credit Crunch Bunch? Well, you will have in a minute!
4 intrepid (or just bloody mad) bankers, Nick Broome, Richard Harrison, Greg Humphries and Andy Hoare have agreed to take up the challenge of cycling 500 miles across France. This years trip will take us from the north of France past Paris & Fontainebleau into the Loire Valley and Bourges, and on to the Massif Central to finish at the foot of Puy de Dôme near Vichy. The journey will be over the weekend of 26 - 28 September 2008 and any support you can give, however small, will be gratefully received. For further information please see www.extra-mile.org.uk.
The team are:
Richard Harrison, Private Partner for Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank. Racing for British Heart Foundation in memory of Richard Glendinning whose life was cut short at the age of 21 - a fantastic bloke and great friend. First time on a bike for 17 years so really looking forward to the lovely new saddle - also hoping to lose some of that well earned beer gut!!
Andy Hoare, Wealth Partner, Clydesdale Bank. The sole survivor of last years Extra Mile Challenge, Andy is already gearing himself up mentally and physically for the Loire Valley challenge. Only last week he got back in the saddle and cycled to the pub (and back!!!). Lance Armstrong would be so proud........www.helpthehospices.org.uk
Nick Broome, Business Partner, Clydesdale Bank. Some would say "mad" and others "foolish" but it will be a great experience never the less. The British Diabetic Association have done so much for me over the last 27 years and I am keen to start to repay their support and advice. 3 Poms and a Whingeing Aussie is perhaps a more appropriate team name for us and no matter where we finish we will have some fun. Can't wait - yeah right! www.diabetes.org.uk
Greg Humphries, Senior Partner Credit, Clydesdale Bank. Too old, too slow maybe, but whingeing - never! (some people need to reassess their bread - and the buttered side thereof!) A (not so) little aussie battler riding for the Pepper Foundation. The Pepper Foundation funds the nursing care of terminally ill chidren. www.pepper.org.uk
Thanks for your support.
Nick, Rich, Andy and Greg.
