We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

After the success of climbing South East Asia's highest peak, Mount Kinabalu last year, I'm still well and it's time to take on a bigger challenge and raise some money....

This time I am attempting the 8 day climb up Africa's highest peak, and the world's biggest free standing mountain.. MOUNT KILIMANJARO!

I am fundraising for a charity very close to my heart, the National Society for Crohn's and Colitis (NACC). The charity works tirelessly to help those suffering, like me, from Inflammatory Bowel Disease and are striving to find a cure.

Key to my fundraising plight is that Crohn's is chronic. CROHN'S HAS NO KNOWN CURE. And with much money, time and attention diverted to more popular campaigns such as those related to cancer, Crohn's tends to get left behind!

So PLEASE donate whatever you can. Your money paid through this site will go directly to the NACC, with a nice 28% gift aid boost if you are eligible, please remember to tick the relevant box!!

For those who do not know about Crohn's Disease, the basic story is this.. it is an auto-immune disease affecting anywhere on the digestive tract from mouth to anus. Symptoms include crippling pain, blood and mucus in stools and diarrhoea and constipation, stemming from inflammation, fistulae and narrowing of the bowels.

There is a lot of information on Crohn's and I urge you all to educate yourself and raise awareness. There is very little public awareness of Crohn's making it difficult for those who suffer to be understood.
