We offer expert care, guidance and support to people living with a terminal illness

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! Please dig deep and sponsor me online...

Here is why I am raising money....

Some of you may know that my dad, Bob Wynne, passed away in March this year.  He suffered from prostate cancer and was ill for around 9 months.  During his illness, Dad wanted to stay at home for as long as possible, and was fortunate to only have to leave home for the last 2 weeks of his life.  However, his stay at home was only made possible by the fantastic support that was provided by Marie Curie Cancer Care.

This group of superb carers really helped to make Dad's life not only more comfortable and to help maintain his self dignity, but also enabled my Mother, who worked so hard throughout his illness, to cope with the tremendous stress she was under.

So this is a way I can give something back - and thanks to all those you have sponsored me so far, it seems that I will be able to..

So here is what I've done....

I can't run a marathon, I can't swim the channel, so I thought I would stand for 15 minutes with my back to a wall..  Puzzled?
On Sunday June 15th 2008 , as part of the Cricklade Town Festival, (www.crickladetownfestival.com) you could find me on stage pinned to a wall with a deranged Red Indian throwing knives at me....
Of course  I realise that many of you would like to throw knives at me a lot sooner than that!.  Being a knife thrower's assistant isn't something I've done before or will ever do again, but as I found myself being volunteered for the job, I reckoned that some sponsorship and public awareness might just give me the courage to see it through...

You can see the video of the event to the left - and yes I was very scared....

Please consider a donation to the charity.  I know first hand just how valuable the services that Marie Curie offer are, and it is only through kind support by generous people like you that others will continue to benefit.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support - and wish me luck!
