Story
My story so far....
Following a great day out cheering on my friends that were running the London Marathon in April 08 my sister and I sat on the train on the way home saying how much we'd love to do it. So I spent a couple of days seriously thinking about the training, the committment, the pain... and decided YES.
I'm running for Sparks for many reasons. Firstly, Sparks is an amazing charity and such a worthwhile cause. Sparks funds research into all childhood illnesses to ensure that all babies are born healthy and stay healthy. Secondly, my neice, Lucy was born with cerebral palsy and every step I take (in training and on the day) i'll be remembering that Lucy can't walk properly and the money I raise will make a difference her future treatments.. Third - I work for Sparks and can't wait for the shower, massage and burger that Sparks offers at the end....
I need all the support and help I can get so please sponsor me and help me reach my fundraising goal.
And if you fancy a nice day out in London on the 26th April 2009 i'd love it if you could come along and cheer for me and all the other Sparks runners.
Thanks xxx
Training Updates - to remind you why you have to sponsor me :
I've completed a half marathon... however i had to walk at the end
i've ran loads of long 7/8 mile runs (and guess what guys I can do it non stop!!!)
I've been injured - knees!! nightmare and pulled a muscle in my leg.
I've not lost any weight... i'm constantly hungry!
I did my final LONG run on Good Friday - 15 miles... all the way from my house in Streatham to the far end of Hyde Park and back. I felt brilliant at the end and i'm really looking forward to Sunday week.
Still scared but CAN'T WAIT.
Please don't forget to let me know if you're going to be cheering so i can tell you best places to high five me and i'll put you on the guest list for the post - race reception on the embankment.
