Story
As many of you know this year I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 25th April 2010. I have never run before and yes its a huge 26.2 miles!
My inspiration behind running is to help raise money for a global charity I have been involved in for a number of years - Chinmaya Mission. If you don't know of the charity, I can tell you thousands of people benefit from its activities. For example, I have seen first hand how the charity inspires many people to participate in social activities which the organisation undertakes globally - including working to improve schools, hospitals and working on rural village development projects.
Both children and adults participate in the organisation's activities and benefit from the cultural development classes or the spiritual discourses provided and not only has it been a great inspiration to me but I have also seen it benefit many others.
The marathon training has not been easy and it is only set to get harder! But you can help me and my team mate Kamala (http://www.justgiving.com/kamala-panday) over the next few weeks by supporting a charity which dedicates itself to helping others. So please dig deep to make all my aches and pains worthwhile - no matter how small every penny counts!
Thank you!
Love,
Nishi
