Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Justgiving page.

My name is Darren Rozier and I'm Lesley Dolphin's right hand man on the afternoon show at BBC Radio Suffolk.  I help to put the show together by researching guests, booking them in and looking after them when they come in.  I also look after the phones while the programme is on air and make sure that everything happens in the show when it should.

One of my hobbies is walking.  As well as walking the 17 mile Gipping Valley towpath between Stowmarket and Ipswich I've also done long walks in the Faroe Islands, Austria, Shetland and Norway.  I'm fascinated by the lovely scenery, the fresh air and the time to be alone, pray and just wonder at the beautiful planet which I live on.

As part of BBC Radio Suffolk's Treehouse Appeal I'm going to be doing the longest walk I've done in my life - right here in East Anglia.  In September I shall be walking three long distance paths which will take me round the coast of Norfolk and Suffolk.  I'll start in Hunstanton and, seven days later, I'll be finishing in Felixstowe.  I shall also be stopping at some wonderful accomodation on the way, most of which have been very generous and given me some serious discounts for bed and breakfast.

The walk is a total of 160 miles taking in the Norfolk Coast Path, Weavers Way and the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Path.  I might need a chiropodist at the end of it!

EACH's hospice in Ipswich was opened in 1999 as a pilot project and demand has increased so much over this time that they have simply outgrown it.  EACH were very generously donated a four acre plot of land on which they have obtained planning permission for a new 6 bedroomed hospice.  They have just launched The Treehouse Appeal to raise the £3million required to be able to build it and need everybody's help to make this much needed project come to life.  This exciting project will enable EACH to provide more care to more families throughout Suffolk and North Essex so please help me to make the new hospice a reality.
