After the success of previous years challenges which have included climbing Mount Olympus and Mount Etna the team from the Female, Functional & Restorative Urology Unit at UCLH. will be setting off on September 10th 2014 to tackle one of their toughest charity challenges to date. This is a major and extremely exciting challenge for the team, and the aim is to raise over £100,000 for research, education, patient information and raising public awareness into urological conditions and the treatment available.
To many Venice
conjures up an image of an exquisite city that seems miraculously built on
water. Tackling the nerve-racking mountain routes, Ockrim's Olympians will still
need a head for heights and nerves of steel to handle traversing the many sheer
edges on this their most challenging challenge to date.
will once again be leading the famous “Ockrim’s Olympians" on their Danger in the Dolomites charity challenge.
For anyone growing up in the latter part of the 20th Century, the name Cortina is synonymous with a brand of Ford motor car, rather than a chic Italian mountain resort. High in the Dolomites, Cortina d’Ampezzo Cortina lies at the centre of the Valle d’Ampezzo and has been featured in a number of films, including “Cliffhanger” and “For Your Eyes Only.
For their 2014 Danger in the Dolomites charity challenge to help raise awareness and funds for those suffering from urological conditions, twelve Ockrim’s Olympians consisting of Consultants, Professors and Registrar’s from the field of Urology at University College London Hospital along with a patient from UCLH will attempt to cycle from Cortina d’Ampezzo all the way to Venice.
Please help Ockrim’s Olympians to help you by
sponsoring them on this exciting challenge
