Story
This summer Charlie and myself are travelling to Tanzania on our dental elective and we have decided to climb Kilimajaro as part of our trip. At 5895m or 19341ft it is Africa's highest mountain and with the high elevation, freezing temperatures, and the possibility of high winds it is a difficult and dangerous trek. It is also said that all trekkers will suffer considerable discomfort, typically shortage of breath, hypothermia and headaches.
Though the view from the top will be incredible this didn't sound like too much fun getting there and with this in mind we decided we need some extra motivation and thought we would raise some money for charity.
I have decided to raise money for the Guillain-Barre syndrome support group which is a registered charity that provides support and information to people of the UK who have been affected by the rare neurological condition; Guillain-Barre syndrome (and other similar conditions). It has affected someone I know and so I want to do my bit to raise awareness for the condition and in addition, as the condition is so rare, the charity doesn't recieve much support and therefore I want to raise as much money as possible. So please donate/bet on us as generously as you can afford to and we will try and repay you by reaching the summit and taking some awesome photos along the way!
Charlie is raising money for Birmingham children's hospital and has his own just giving page www.justgiving.com/charlie-henry so please donate to his charity aswell!
