Story

I am skiing 350 nautical miles (590km) to the Magnetic North Pole in April 2008 as part of the Polar Challenge race

I am using the race to raise money for the Institute of Cancer Research, a UK charity and one of the leading medical research bodies in the world

Specifically, I am looking for sponsors to “Buy a Mile”, ideally with a donation of £50.  With GiftAid this means that I can raise over £20,000 towards an overall sponsorship target for the charity of £35,000.  We are looking for a small number of corporate sponsors to complete the programme

The money raised will provide one year of post doctoral research into drug development to combat four aggressive forms of paediatric cancer: malignant brain tumour (where survival rates are currently under 10%), soft tissue tumour, high risk neuroblastoma and high risk leukaemia.  Cancer is the principal form of death from disease in children in the UK.  This is something we can all fight.  Please help me in putting the skids on cancer
