Story

As you no doubt know, I am running the London Marathon on 22nd April.  Then I'll be looking forward to getting back on the bike which is an altogether more civilised form of locomotion.  I'm aiming for about 4:00 to 4:15 if you're interested.  Training is coming along fine despite the inevitable rash of injuries caused by overexcitable ideas about distances.  I'm hitting 20miles per long run at the weekend now and all of it brutal.  Still, not long to go till the tapering process which will make my life a lot easier...

So please everyone, reach into those pockets and make these 4 months of boring monotony worth it.  It's an amazing cause as you're all probably aware as I keep banging on about it.  We're aiming to rebuild the centre so that Lewisham council will let us stay on that site for a peppercorn rent.

It's no exaggeration to say that the place is falling apart.  In the last couple of years we've had plenty of fun.  Flooded drains and cellars.  Stairs falling through.  Plants growing through the walls upstairs.  Total lack of central heating.  Pictures to come soon via Flickr.com.  I don't plan to raise the £400,000 we need but hopefully we can get partway there.  So without further ado, here's the obligatory blurb...and yes, a picture will be forthcoming soon...

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Samaritans Of Lewisham, Greenwich And Southwark will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
