We support young disabled adults to lead independent and fulfilling lives

Story

On the Saturday 24th April, five brave souls will be leaping 10,000 ft out of a plane in order to raise money and awareness for the work of The Orpheus Centre.

Our founder Richard Stilgoe and Orpheus the Mythical director Syd Ralph will be joined by three hard working volunteers, who help out in all areas of the centre from reception to drama and student support - all taking part in this dare devil activity! Help them raise the maximum amount of funds by digging deep and giving as generously as you can; every pound goes towards our ongoing work and helps our students become independent, accomplished young adults.

A little taste of what we do

The Orpheus Centre was founded in 1998 by the entertainer and musician Richard Stilgoe in his former family home in Godstone. The centre promotes transition into independent living; providing opportunities for young disabled adults to promote personal development through performing arts to enable them to gain the skills to live independently in the community and to make informed choices about their futures.

As well as our own theatre, our students regularly perform at other locations nationwide. These have included Buckingham Palace and the Glastonbury Festival as well as an annual performance at the Royal Opera House. Working alongside international artists including choreographer Sheron Wray and composer Herbie Flowers, these performances are consistently met with acclaim from both audiences and professionals alike.

The work and performances taking place at the centre would be impossible without the help of our generous and dedicated supporters and all money raised for this event will help ensure our work goes from strength to strength.

So please dig deep and donate now.

THANK YOU!
