We did it!

It was a cold, damp night but we all made it over the finish line! During the course of the evening we split into 2 groups and finished with about 10 minutes between us - 6hrs 15 mins for the fastest! Some of us had blisters from our shoes, one had a bra injury (!), we were all very stiff and tired. The atmosphere was amazing, our balloons were great for finding each other in the crowds, (but have you ever tried to fit into a portaloo with a helium balloon??) and we've raised loads of money for a fantastic cause - THANK YOU!

On Saturday, May 17th at 11.00pm, we will start our 26.2 mile power walk through the streets of London, wearing decorated purple bras (and not a lot else!) in aid of breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women and Walk the Walk is a charity that is very close to our hearts -  we all have family and friends who have been affected by breast cancer. This year, 15,000 walkers will walk through the night with the united goal of raising money for vital breast cancer causes and we will be amongst them.

Our team: Naomi Conneely, Karen Watts, Lesley Howse, Sarah Wiles, Zoe Taylor, Jane McDevitt and Dawn Patel trained long and hard, several times a week, in order to complete the marathon in 6 hours. You may have seen us pounding the lanes of North Hampshire in our matching pink jackets - we saved our decorated bras for the big night!
