Story
Some weeks ago, in what now feels like a mad moment, Tim, Dave, Michelle and I volunteered to be the 4 Symington's Executive Team members to take part in the Spayne Lindsay Charity Challenge on Saturday 7th June 2014.
I guess we were an obvious 4 volunteers clearly being the youngest and fittest within our team although I suspect that our dear colleagues would prefer to describe us as the "daftest" thus justifying their absence from the hills, Lakes and woodland of the Lake District next Saturday afternoon!
To be fair, "daft" could be an apt description as we fell for the trick as our dear boss drip-fed the information to us and so it was way beyond the point of commitment that we realised we had signed up to in effect a triathlon!!
So, please take pity on us as we give up our Saturday to walk/run up to 12km over a 1000m vertical climb, canoe up to 11km and then cycle up to 45km all in a day.
As we dig deep into our reserves of energy, stamina and endurance - and boy will we be digging deep - please dig deep into your pockets to give us the incentive we need to complete this challenge. Every penny that we raise will go towards our Company target of raising enough money to provide a Sunshine Coach for local children through our partnership with Variety, the Children's Charity.
Thank you in advance & we hope to see you after the Event - assuming we survive. We will survive, won't we???
