Story
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood disorder or blood cancer. They do this by matching amazing individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. Arran is currently waiting for a transplant to treat the life-limiting genetic condition Chronic Granulomatous Disorder and he is lucky - there is already a match for him on the register. However, he knows that many people are not so lucky and never find a donor to save their lives. He would like to use his illness to do something positive to raise awareness of how important donors are and how easy it is both to sign up and to donate your stem cells. Arran and his friends and family would love to persuade 150 new people from the north of Scotland to join the register and potentially save someone else's life. We'd like to try to raise £6000 to help meet the cost of getting those new donors on to this life saving register so more people can have a match like Arran. If you are aged between 16 and 30, please consider signing up as a donor. And while we know times are hard, if you can spare it please consider donating a little cash to help us pay for those donors to be registered - every little helps save a life!
