Story
Two years ago I ran the Brighton Half Marathon and hated every single minute of it. Swore I’d never run one of these events again.
Then the old man had to go and die — so obviously now I’ve got to double it and run a full one 🫠
He passed away in April 2024, and since then I’ve wanted to do something for him — something that makes his death mean just as much to the world as his life did. For a while I didn’t know what that was, but I feel like this is quite fitting as he always did want me to take up track and field properly, even when we both knew this was probably a long shot as I inherited his irrational love for shortbread, mince pies and custard 😂
After a bit of digging, I found out the British Heart Foundation does loads of research into what caused his death, but it’s massively underfunded compared to how many people it affects.
So yeah… I’ll be running the Manchester Marathon 2026 for the BHF, in memory of my dad, please donate if you can 💙
